Okay lets get down to it, so your thinking about taking out your beloved crush and now you have came up with the brilliant idea of going on a first date. Good work if you have made it to this level, this is an important move as long as you play your cards right.
To answer the question "should I pay on the first date?" Id say its all about using your own judgement. The answer is yours and its unique everyime. How do you use your own judgement, well you add up the facts and decide what the best move is in the current situation.
Decide what you want with this relationship. Is it for a one-night stand? Is it for the longterm or the sticky short term? By answering these questions you can weigh out your initial investment.
Alot of guys will tell you "oh man dont pay for the first date!" and dont open doors for her and be a jerk. In all honesty that is a short term dead end deal, most of the time guys dishing out this type of advice dont have anyone so they are trying to sabotage you too.
Use your own judgement, who cares what steve or bob thinks, steve and bob aren't you.
Be smart and read what she wants from you. Is she worth buying a meal for? Will the putt putt after dinner be worth it? Id say again figure out your intension for the date and everything else will fall into place.
Relationships are like jobs, you spend hours devoting time to it and soon it pays off in other words you spend quality time with your girlfriend and that investment of devoting your time will nourish your relationship and keep it afloat.
Now just because you pay for her food and miniature golf doesn't mean your a chump or a loser, it actually shows class. Especially if you dont rub it in her face that you did these things, just act like it aint nothing. If you only have five dollars get creative she will love you for that. Be real and let her know that you only have five dollars and you want her input on how to spend it. Its bonding time! THat sounds like an adventure to me!
